'It's Radical, but it could just work'

(Evening Standard - 8 Feb 2000)

VICKY LAWSON 43 is a chartered surveyor. Her left shoulder froze in 1998 'when my shoulder became stiff I had no idea what it was. I couldn't lift my arm properly. The doctor gave me a cortisone injection, which eased it, but it came back by Christmas and things were really grim, I could hardly lift it and I couldn't lie on that side at all; I couldn't get sweaters on & off. I couldn't get out of the bath, or wash my hair. I had 3 injections in all, and then in April 1999 I underwent surgery. Instead of getting better, my shoulder got worse. So I had physio and I lived on painkillers. I became very dejected. Then at a party I met someone who said it sounded like a frozen shoulder - no one had told me that before - and he knew someone who could help. I've had seven treatments with Simeon and it is virtually better.

RITA HUNT, 49 is a doctor's receptionist. Her left shoulder froze in 1996. 'To begin with I didn't realize what was happening; it hurt when I tried holding the handles on the bus, and I couldn't lie on that side. The doctor referred me to a Rheumatologist, who confirmed it was a frozen shoulder. The best he could offer was Cortisone but it did not do much good. Oh, it was awful. I only had 25% mobility in my arm and nothing could move it. I couldn't swim and driving a car was dreadful. Then my friend told me about Simeon and that he specialized in the treatment of Frozen Shoulder. The 1st time I saw him he put pressure on one spot and worked on it - it was painful, but what you get in the end is worth it. The following week, I could get my arm half way up my back. After 4 sessions, I could do my bra up without tears in my eyes. Now, I can get my arm over my head and up behind my back - fully.
